My advice to incoming students is...

Don't be afraid to put yourself out there! Joining lots of clubs when I first got on campus was the best way to meet people, and even if you choose not to continue with all of the groups throughout your college career, taking those opportunities in the first few weeks is the best way to meet people who share your interests.
